April 1997
DID YOU KNOW...
Without notification or warning, Social Security and
Medicare changed their policy regarding the mailing address for all beneficiaries.
The new policy states that the address on record for
a person receiving Social Security benefits is the ONLY address to be used by Medicare.
This has caused a great deal of confusion for those of our clients now receiving Medicare
statements and correspondence which previously had been addressed to our office - this had
been both efficient and wise and worked so well.
Because of this confusion, we find we are having
problems receiving the Medicare statements from some of our clinets; possibly due to the
wording at the top which states "This is not a bill." It is most important that
all MCS clients forward each and every Medicare statement you receive to our office so we
may follow through as necessary. For our client's convenience, you may call our office for
pre-addressed envelopes or mailing envelopes.
When in doubt about what paperwork we need -
remember if it is medically related, send it to us. This paperwork allows us to work on
your file efficiently and effectively.
